After a devastating earthquake, Nga, an old elephant and probably the last of its species, and Sanra his mahout are about to embark on a journey to find the mythical elephant’s graveyard. When a group of poachers starts following them, a journey of discovery and mourning starts. Under mysterious circumstances, the poachers die one after the other, while the spectator becomes the only protagonist on a sonic journey into the cemetery and beyond.

About the filmmaker

Carlos Casas (b. 1974) lives and works in Paris. He is a filmmaker and visual artist whose work combines documentary film, cinema, and contemporary visual and sound arts. His last three films have been awarded in festivals around the world from Torino, Madrid, Buenos Aires, and Mexico City and some of his film works, installations and live cinema presentations have been presented in collective and personal exhibitions in places like Hangar Bicocca, Milan, Bozar, Bruxelles, Centre Cultura Contemporanea, Barcelona and festivals like Multiplicidade Rio de Janeiro, Huddersfield Contemporary Music festival, and Sonar, Barcelona. He has devoted a trilogy of work to some of the most extreme regions on the planet: Patagonia, the Aral sea and Siberia.
