Abou the film
A Human Position was made almost with zero budget, but opened the Tromsø International Film Festival in January, and was later invited to prestigious festivals in Europe and Asia. It follows Asta, a young woman who works as a journalist at Sunnmørsposten. Between routine assignments about traffic accidents and cruise tourism, Asta's view of Norway and the world comes into play when she hears about a case about a missing asylum seeker.
More than a social drama, A Human Position is a cinematic exploration of empathy, in which the audience's ability to engage is explored through the language of film. With subtly composed images, sparse dialogue and slow rhythm, the film encourages us to become active participants instead of passive viewers.
The screening is presented in collaboration with Filmbyrået Jack.
