About the work
Halvor Skiftun Digernes, The Fjord, 2022
Blue clay from Bjørvika, beachsand from Hvervenbukta, pacific oysters from Nøtterøy og seaweed from Huk on Bygdøy.
A vessel about the human and nature
Built large to take up space, shaped by hands, rugged in its structure
Covered with dead and rotten seaweed, thrown on to land by the winds and weather
Norwegian marine clay from a time when everything was ice and sea
Pacific oysters cleared on to land to protect our feet
Sand from the beaches we visit in the summer
glazed and fired I a oxygen low atmosphere to a almost impenetrable structure
Hidden and forgotten
