Become a guide at Kunstnernes Hus

Kunstnernes Hus is now looking for new guides for our exhibition tours and workshops.

Kunstnernes Hus is looking for four tour guides/art mediators in 12% temporary positions. This means you work an average of 50% per week during our exhibition periods.

We are looking for you with an interest in and knowledge of subjects such as visual arts, art history, philosophy, film, media studies and the like. In addition to giving tours of our exhibitions and Kunstnernes Hus' architecture, you will give workshops aimed at different target groups such as children, young people and adults.

Start: 4 November 2024 / 5 May 2025

Tasks

  • Give tours and hold workshops in line with Kunstnernes Hus' visions and values.
  • The tasks are linked to a rotation and mainly include work during the day. In addition, some evening and weekend work must be expected. Core time during the day is Monday-Friday at 09:00-16:00.

Qualifications

  • BA (minimum) in a relevant field. Relevant practice can compensate for formal education.
  • Experience from targeted audience work and art education aimed at children, young people and adults.
  • Knowledge of or interest in subjects such as visual arts, art history, philosophy, film, media studies and the like.
  • Pedagogical sense and interest in dialogue with the public.
  • Good collaboration skills.
  • Good oral language skills in Norwegian and English. Other language skills are positively emphasized.

Kunstnernes Hus is owned by Stiftelsen Kunstnernes Hus, an independent artist-run foundation established by Norwegian artists in 1930. With exhibitions, films, artist talks, tours, workshops, concerts and seminars, we are a lively arena for art and culture. The building is an architectural flagship building designed by the architects Gudolf Blakstad and Herman Munthe-Kaas and deeply influenced by contemporary international architectural trends.
