About the workshop
Through two intensive and fun course days, the children will:
- Make a story and develop their own characters
- Build miniature figures and scenes
- Learn stop motion technique
- Photography and animation
- Edit the film and view it on the big screen
The course provides both technical and creative skills, and the children work in small groups where collaboration, imagination and problem solving are at the center.
About the course instructors
Mahsa Mousaviyan is an Iranian visual artist with a Master's degree in Fine Art from NTNU. She works primarily with animation and has a background as an animator for several children's TV productions in Iran. Her artistic projects combine puppetry, sculpture, film and frame-by-frame methods with modern techniques. She has also made a semi-autobiographical animated film based on her own experiences in Norway, as well as the multimedia project Shadows of the Light. Mahsa has extensive experience in communication and has held workshops for, among others, DKS and Trondheim Kulturhus.
Marzie is a Norwegian-Iranian writer and director living in Oslo, with a bachelor's degree from Westerdals. She has led film and theater workshops for children and youth, focusing on creative storytelling and visual expression. As a screenwriter and director, she is behind the film Mountains, based on interviews with eleven refugees from different countries. The film was selected for the Norwegian Film Festival in Haugesund and the Short Film Festival in Grimstad.
