Internasjonalt Samisk Filminstitutt og Sápmifilm

Det Internasjonale Samiske Filminstituttet og strømmetjenesten Sápmifilm bidrar til at filmer på det samiske språket blir både laget og distribuert. Instituttet ble invitert av Kunstnernes Hus Kino til å bidra i prosjektet Mapping Distributions: New Norwegian Initiatives som ser nærmere på behovet for alternative distribusjonssystemer for alternative filmer. Tida vi står i gir en enestående sjanse til å tenke nytt om hvordan filmer når sitt publikum. Er det også en god tid for nisjene? I lys av pandemi og overfloden av nye strømmetilbud hva står på spill i formidlingen av samisk og urfolksfilm?

Om ISFI
The International Sámi Film Institute is dedicated to providing Sámi people with the skills and economic opportunities in developing, producing, and distributing Sámi films in the Sámi language. In addition, the ISFI is an institute for promoting cooperation and encouraging productions with other Indigenous filmmakers and organisations internationally.
Sapmifilm is a streaming service established by ISFI in 2018 offering a unique collection of Sámi as well as other Indigenous films in various formats. The service is currently available in Norway, Sweden and Finland.
