Boken Dismantling (2018, Heavy Books) markerer Behzad Farazollahis første kunstmonografi og består av 69 bilder fra Afghanistan, Iran, Mexico, Spania, Portugal, England, Norge, Tsjekkia, Danmark og Italia. Materialet spenner over de siste 20 årene av Farazollahis kunstnerisk praksis.
Kunstnersamtale mellom Farazollahi og kunstner/forlegger Sveinn Fannar Jóhannsson vil være kl. 18:15. Boken er støttet av Kulturrådet og Norsk Fotografisk Fond.
Om boken
Drawing inspiration from the rhythms of Haiku, Farazollahi cinematically sequences images onto paper with the primary objective of emphasising the element of delicate movement in the photographic capture. The result is a unique trajectory in the understanding of the still image, through the use of triptychs and repetition.
Om kunstneren
Farazollahi (b. Teheran 1978) is an artist and director of the artist run MELK gallery, and the editor of New Scandinavian Photography published by Black Dog. Recent exhibitions by Farazollahi include Instytut Fotografii Warsaw, Haugar Vestfold Kunstmuseum, Pulsar Antwerpen, Noplace Oslo, Finnish Museum of Photography, Fotografisk Center København, Oslo Kunstforening, Kalmar Kunstmuseum, Wetterling Gallery Stockholm, Lillehammer Kunstmuseum and Kristiansand Kunstmuseum.
