Welcome to this full-day seminar in connection with the exhibition No Master Territories. The event gathers a group of invited speaks for presentations, dialogues, and discussions concerning feminist film cultures in Denmark, Norway and Sweden, with a special emphasis on the period of the 1970s and 1980s.

10:00 Welcome and introduction by Silja Espolin Johnson and Erika Balsom

10:30 Sweden: Two short lectures and a conversation. John Sundholm: Conditions of production, and the production of experience: The emergence of minority films in Sweden in the 1970s. Ingrid Ryberg: From images of women to “women’s” films. Sundholm and Ryberg in conversation with film curator Abirami Logendran.

12:30 Denmark: Lecture and Q&A with art historian and curator Stine Hebert from HEIRLOOM center for art and archives: Remembering The International Festival for Women in the Arts (1980)

13:45 Norway: Film feminisms in Norway in the late 1970s. Conversation between film scholar Ingrid Synneva Holtar, filmmaker and member of the production collective Damefilm Inge-Lise Langfeldt and film mediator Torunn Nyen.
