Welcome to a new edition of the Composition Forum at Kunstnernes Hus – with Herman Vogt and Marcus Paus.

About the event

Starting on October 14, 2025, the Composition Forum will be arranged once a month with intersecting themes between modern music, other art forms and political issues. Famous artists will be invited across disciplines, nerd level, taste, smell, intelligence, and genres. In other words: “Composition” will be understood in its most radically open meaning.

About the contributors

Herman Vogt has composed, among other things, a number of large-scale orchestral works, and has gradually developed into what he now describes as a "full-blooded romantic". He is interested, among other things, in complex classical forms, existential issues and the form-forming potential of tonality.

Marcus Paus is one of Norway's most performed and active composers and has been a representative of a new orientation towards tradition, tonality and connection to film music. Paus has described himself as an "anarcho-traditionalist" and has previously been associated with the Scandinavian aesthetic movement "retrogardism". He has distinguished himself as a supporter of diversity in music.

About the Composition Forum

The forums are free and open to all. An interest in art and/or music is no obstacle. The series is run and curated by Trond Reinholdtsen, Guoste Tamulynaite and Fredrik Blichfelt.
