Fully booked! Stop-motion workshop

For children aged 10-13
12.08.20 – 13.08.20

Kunstnernes Hus hosts a summer school in week 33 where you can learn how to make your own animated film under the guidance of visual artists. We offer 2-4 day stop-motion workshops for children between 10 and 13 years. Stop-motion is an analog animation technique that gives life to drawings and objects and lets you create magical "movie tricks" with your own body.

Workshop 1: 11th-12th of August

Workshop 2: 13th-14th of August

Time: 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM

About the workshop

Over the course of two days, participants will get an introduction to stop-motion animation and simple techniques that everyone can continue to work with after the course. Participants learn how to create animated films from the idea to the final animated object, drawing, paper or body.

The workshop lasting over four days provides room for further development of the project, such as exploring and creating sound effects, or alternatively making a longer film. Everyone will receive a memory stick with their own work and a diploma after completing the course.

The course is led by visual artist Josse Thuresson. Josse has previous experience with workshops for children and teaching in schools, and works as a guide at Kunstnernes Hus. She is a trained visual artist from the Oslo Academy of the Arts with a course in animation technology from the Vienna Academy of the Arts.
