KUNST + research & climate

12.02.19 — Kl 18:00 - 20:00

In what ways does art affect our relationship with nature? How can artists learn from scientists and scientists to work better with artists? Can such cooperation have an effect on the dissemination of the environment and climate issues and move towards a sustainable future? Welcome to artist presentations and panel discussions, led by art critic Oda Bhar.

Participating artists: Elin Glærum Haugland, Siri Ekker Svendsen, Stahl Stenslie, Stig Marlon Weston, Zane Cerpina

Labverde is a Brazilian artist program that invites international artists to stay at a research station in the Amazon rainforest. Concrete and practical knowledge of local conditions in the rainforest and global climate issues inspires the participants to develop their artistic activities further on the issues raised in lectures and debates during their stay.

- 5 Norwegian artists have participated in the program in recent years, and will present their work from there.

- Introduction from the Rainforest Fund about the Amazon and the situation in Brazil now.

- Panel discussion on collaboration between artists and researchers, practical experiences from Labverde and is it possible to do similar programs in Norway?

The event is supported by Fritt Ord.
